Saints Cyril and Saint Methodius

Although Saints Cyril and Methodius belong to the ninth century, their outlook and achievements are as modern as our own day. It is not surprising, then, that Pope John Paul II has proclaimed them co-patrons of Europe along with Saint Benedict.

Methodius and Cyril, whose baptismal name was Constantine, were two of the seven children of an influential family in Thessalonica. Both were exemplary Greek citizens and devout Christians, talented and well educated. Methodius became a legal expert and an administrator esteemed for his mastery of civil law and his fairness in dispensing justice. Cyril was a versatile scholar who had earned the epithet Philosopher. He was gifted in both secular learning and in Scripture study and spirituality. Since they lived among Slavic-speaking peoples they both knew the Greek and the Slavic languages well.

In Constantinople and elsewhere Cyril and Methodius successfully served their emperor in a number of difficult assignments. They brilliantly engaged in religious and philosophical disputes with the Arabs, they taught Christian truths to the Khazars, and fulfilled other official tasks. With these missions Providence had been preparing them for their most significant commitment. When the envoys of Prince Rastislav brought to the court of Michael III the request for Slavic-speaking teachers and missionaries, the emperor knew he had qualified candidates for meeting the needs of Great Moravia.

Cyril and Methodius accepted the challenge. To give their teaching and preaching a form of permanence, Cyril devised the Glagolitic alphabet for the unlettered Slavs. In later years the disciples of Cyril and Methodius revised the alphabet which is now know as the Cyrillic alphabet. Cyril and his brother set down in writing Slavic translations of the Scriptures and of liturgical and catechetical books. They educated disciples among the Danubian peoples and prepared a native clergy. They used the vernacular in the liturgy and sacred functions. They became not only bearers of the Word of God but also founders of Slavic culture in all ninth century Great Moravia.

In their apostolate Cyril and Methodius had to deal with misunderstanding and misrepresentation. They were charged, for example, with introducing innovations into church services; they were accused of heresy and estrangement from Rome. In all instances they were exonerated by papal examinations and encouraged to continue their labors. In the civil and local arena, however, they were victims of secret connivings and conspiracies. After Cyril's death on February 14, 869, Methodius returned to Great Moravia as an archbishop. Because of the hostility of the Bavarian clergy, he was arrested and held prisoner for over three years until Pope John VIII sent a personal representative to demand his liberation and install him in his office as archbishop and papal envoy to all the Slavic lands. Until his death on April 6, 885, Methodius evangelized the people of Great Moravia and continued to translate liturgical books into Slavonic.

In enriching the faithful in the lands in which they labored, they likewise enriched the Church and spread the Kingdom of God on earth.

Creative or What?

....Sad Story.....

Well.....actally, i have the exciting experience to shared with you all but.... there is the sad story behind the experience..... The story begin with this....

On the 6th of August 2008...that is my first ever trip for vacation to overseas.... i went to Bali Island,one of the best island in Indonesia...actly,this is the budget vacation for your information...hehehe...Visiting the place is a big exciting experience. At the first day we arrive there, we just visiting Kuta town that near to our hotel because we arrived late...we stay at the Wina Hotel... well,

On the second day, we went to watch the traditional dance of bali. It is Called Barong Dance i think....the dancer and the actor/actress wearing the weird costume. i dont really understand the message of the story behind the dance but it is acceptable...heheheh.

then our journey continue to the place called Kitamani...it is cold place...the wind is so cold.. we went there for lunch...from the restaurant, we will see the Volcano.... fortunately the volcano is already explode 6 month ago. it is the beautiful view....cold wind and also delicious food.... for your information.....the food that we ate is cost Rp700,000.00

after that, we went to their mini agriculture park and there, we have served their popular coffee. then our journey is going to 'Pasar Ubud' for shopping. we buy many things there with the lowest price....we spent about 3hour of shopping and negotiating price..... after that, we went for our dinner at Jimbaran Beach.....

on the third day, we go to Pasar Ubud Again for shopping....and then went to Pura or Tample... at the Pura, we have to wear a yellow belt they give...i dont know what is the actual purpose but i assumed that,it is for the respect for their relegion. There, we saw the strange fenomenon. the pool is like boiling, with the sand is pushed from the bottom of the earth by the boiled water without affecting the water quality...but actuly the water is not as hot as we assumed...and the water is using by the people.....

then....we went to the most Beautiful place i have ever been...the Place is called Tanah Lot. it is hard to describe by words...it is awsome.....we took a pic as many as we can...from there.... we also can see the sunset,aggresive ocean wave, beautiful figure of land built by the ocean wave...and also shopping with lower price...

after that....we went for dinner also to Spa and reflexology....heheheh....i dont want to talk much about this kind of experience...heheheheh

on the final day, we just hanging aroud at Kuta Town...buying some expensive things....oya...
my friend has bought 2 Guess Watch cost Rp180,000.00 it is just about Rm 70.00 to Rm80.00

That is all about the happy trip....and the sad story is......do you realize that something is missing in this story......?

everybody can write about their experience went to Bali, Gold Coast, Hawaii, paris.... or anywhere and what ever it is....but without a proof.....such like Photo..... is zero...empty...and no one can trust it....

So...The sad story is....my camera's memory card is corrupted.....arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Is this a trick or what? For me.....i prefer to define this image as the 'Special' one... why? it is just an unidentified black and white color but with the right technique it can be transfered into a special image.....

according to the trusted source......someone saw the image of mighty Jesus in the mirror and try to capture the image using camera...once the film was processed, they just have this image... the person is looked upset....he look at the image and with a sad eyes and frustrated heart, he look at the ceiling....he said Oh My God.... guess why?
